Where would I be without my father?  This is a question some of us ponder from time to time.  On Father’s Day we also sometimes find it awkward to celebrate because of an absent father not due to death, but an absent father due to choice.  This is heavy for me emotionally, as I reflect on the fact that my father was not present for the majority of my life.  After my mother passed away in 2003, I later found out that my father also became deceased, leaving no opportunity for us to reconnect.  Despite this, I have discovered over the years that God is an all-knowing, loving, comforting, and faithful God.  As a result of this knowledge, I thank God for being the Heavenly Father that He is, for His word giving us instruction on what a godly father is, and for His sovereign will in allowing me to have the father that I had.

Fathers Are Invaluable

We need their seed to be conceived

But the Heavenly Father is Incomprehensible

For He created this unique purpose for man that no woman could fill

Fathers Are Invaluable

We need their love for stable emotional development

But the Heavenly Father is Incomprehensible

For He is love and He laid down His life to display it

Fathers Are Invaluable

We need their words to guide us through life

But the Heavenly Father is Incomprehensible

For He created The Word that leads to eternal life

Fathers

Do not grow weary for your work is not finished yet

Though we may not see all that you do

Such as when you pray for that sick, frightened, or unsaved child

Or when you stay up all night with that crying baby to feed, change, or rock them to sleep

You Are Invaluable

Fathers

Do not grow weary for your work is not finished yet

Though we may not see all that you do

Continue to train up your children in the Lord

Continue to support their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs

You Are Invaluable

“Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.”

Remember You Are An Invaluable Person In Your Child’s Life
